The canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms. The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and lack of appetite (anorexia). The less common form is the cardiac form, which attacks the heart muscles of very young puppies, often leading to death.

Pulua Ketam. The villagers have been rounding up all the dogs on the island and shipping them to a deserted island with an environment so harsh that every castaway faces a horrible death. Efforts are being made to stop the deportation of more stray dogs from the adjacent village of Sg Lima.

Cathie Sabin has heard sad stories about pet owners who have lost their jobs or homes and had to give up their dogs or cats because they couldn’t afford to buy pet food. Sabin, owner of B.C. Dog Training Club in Mundelein, decided to do something to help pet owners who are struggling because of the economy.
