Dog owners: If it’s past 70 degrees outside, leave your pet at home. If you have to take your dog, take precautions! Park in a shaded area where the entire car is in the shade; leave all windows down at least 8 inches; leave several bowls of cold, iced water on the floor in the shade; and keep your visit inside the store to a few minutes.

They say you have to walk in someone’s shoes to understand what they feel. But sometimes, all you have to do is look down the path they have walked to understand enough to stand with them. These days, we seem to be given few options BUT to stand with Francesca Rogier as she continues her walk down the path to her dog’s freedom.

The California Court of Appeals today ruled that the City’s sentence of death against Stu, a ten year-old dog with a record of one biting incident four years ago, when Stu had himself just been injured, could stand.

Another story has surfaced today about a dog being held in by Animal Services for a ridiculous amount of time for less than logical reasons. I swear dogs do better in the wild than in the company of domesticated humans. In a nutshell, a dog, Stu, gets rescued from the streets in 2000 and lives happily and comfortable with his owner, Jeff de la Rosa, and two other dogs. Life is good.
