We have 13 (I think) cats in a 1200 sqft condo townhome (2 floors-no basement) and I read your lovely Lily story. Ours are getting old and we've had 3 put to sleep in the last couple of years with a few coming up probably. I also have no $$ and wish the government had grants of some kind to help folks in my (and your) situation. I live in MO and it is the state with the worst puppy/kitty mill problem. There's no legislation to protect animals here. The only thing protecting animals here are people like you and me. Of course if anyone knew I had this many cats, the govt would come down on me because there's plenty of legislation AGAINST what I'm doing. I am disabled and have zero income pretty much and have decided to write a book since it's the only thing I can do from a wheelchair. You write well, I'm sure you have plenty of stories. Just a suggestion. If I ever get any $$, your group will be the 1st place I contribute to. I do not contribute to charities any more unless I know the person and exactly what they are running. (Back when I had $$, I did give to diff animal sanctuaries, some who flew the coop). Sorry if this is disjointed writing, it feels like my head is on crooked today. I get that feeling when I read stories like yours since I completely understand the situation. E me if you feel you need to share. . Lonna
