		<description>Thank you for your reply. Perhaps your suggestion would work in a normal household where there are a couple dogs and cats, but I have several rescues -- at least 10 of each, so the suggestion of buying organic food and cooking my own is just not feasible for me at this time.</description>

I understand that you have to save money on everything.  I believe you might find it cheaper to prepare foods for your dog at home instead of buying a commercial food.  If you are concerned about &#039;balancing&#039; your dog&#039;s diet then you can add a quality mineral vitamin supplement (which is certainly better than what is in most &#039;balanced&#039; commercial dog foods).  If you buy organic and serve raw, you may see your pet will need less food because she&#039;ll receive more nutrients.  You can share your food with your pet - cut off the meat that you want to eat and give your pet the rest (just don&#039;t cook the bones for your dog or cat).  Share some of the vegetables and fruits you eat with your pet.  If anyhow possible, I&#039;d stick to (certified) organic food.  Coop stores and farmers markets offer affordable organic products, which are also locally grown.</description>
