Wishbone Pet Food Pantry – Saugatuck, MI

“It’s heartbreaking to choose between feeding your
pets or feeding your children. The Wishbone
Pet Food Pantry can help.”

Michelle, Food Pantry Coordinator
Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance

Due to the rising costs of fuel, food and housing — and the rising tide of foreclosures – there has been a surge in requests for pet food from traditional food pantries. When faced with feeding their families or their pets, families are surrendering their pets to the county shelter, or releasing them out right in public spaces. We at Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance believe families should never have to make such heartbreaking choices.

Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance has established the Pantry Program to provide cat and dog food to families who may otherwise be unable to care for their pets during times of financial difficulty. This service is provided free of charge to the Allegan County community.

Our goal is to keep animals in their loving homes rather than be surrendered at the county shelter.

This new program is in the planning stages with expected launch late spring 2009. Please check back for updates on this important venture.
