Kuumba

Kuumba passed this morning. I think he had been ill for a while, but in the past couple days, he had started looking really bad according to Lucy. Though he could hardly walk very far, he was still guarding the front of his territory this morning to the best of his ability.

Kuumba will always hold a very special place in my heart. He was feral and very much NOT a people person. However, one day I was taking a nap at Lucy’s house and she told me that Kuumba had come in and was sleeping beside me.

A large tom cat, Kuumba had short grey hair all over. I must have a photo of him somewhere.

Who knows who Kuumba will know on the other side. He knew a life and a world we did not. I hope all the best for that sweet boy! I am so sorry things did not work out differently… for those he leaves behind.
