Purina has reduced the size of their Pro Plan and One dog food bags. What was once a 37.5 lb bag is now 34 lbs. The price remained the same… for a while: $27. Now it’s $34.
My dog pack consumes about 1,000 lbs per month, so I had to switch to a cheaper Purina product. I have been a Pro Plan/One user for probably 20+ years with no complaints. But I cannot keep up with their price increases. Wouldn’t it be nice if my paycheck went up that much that fast…
I took one of the dogs, Emily, to the vet Wednesday. She had developed what seemed like a cold that was not responding to any of my treatments. There is a new vet at the clinic; she doesn’t know Emily nor does she know me. She did the usual: check the heart and lungs, check the ears, squeeze here and poke there, etc. She asked what I was feeding her. I told her Purina Dog Chow. The vet paused a bit, then explained to me there was a better grade of Purina dog food. Pretty humbling. I just nodded.
By the way, if anyone reading this feeds their cats and dogs Purina and you don’t save them, please send me the weight circles. I can get some coupons after I collect a bunch of them. Email me if you have some you would like to donate and I’ll send you my address.
