Weight loss. Loss of weight in cats is linked mainly to a loss of appetite which can be triggered by illnesses. If you notice that the dietary habits of your cat have changes or if you perceive quick loss of weight in your cat, you should go visit a veterinary.

Coughing. Coughing is normal in most cases, just like it is among humans. It is not normal, on the other hand having a cat who is constantly coughing all day, every day. If your cat presents this sign for more than a week, you should take him to the vet.

Fever. There are cases where the main symptoms of a sick cat is fever, you can check for fever by feeling your cat. Is he warm? Is he hot? Or maybe is your cat shivering?

Lack of energy. All this time living with your cat you know how he plays, how active he is, so if suddenly your cat becomes lethargic and sleeps all the time, then you know something is definitely not right. Changes of behavior such as the one mentioned are signs of lack of energy in cats.

These are the most common symptoms of sickness in cats, but they are not all the same. They can be present many at once, or maybe isolated with varying degrees of severity.
